meet our new chef - brooks hart
We're excited to announce a fresh new face as the Chef of Bar Pastoral - Brooks Hart! His passion for seasonal, handcrafted dishes and pairings are incredibly creative and we can't for him to wow you with his creations.
As Chef at Bar Pastoral, he brings a cooking style that is product-driven, incredibly creative and approachable. With an appreciation for seasonal and handcrafted ingredients (including, of course, cheese), Brooks is passionate about creating dishes that encourage guests to explore their palates and the exquisite pairing potential of different foods--while also making guests feel relaxed and comfortable.
A graduate of The Art Institute of America and fresh face in Chicago, Brooks was most recently sous chef at Public Restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and general manager at Sushi Zen in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He brings a rare combination of both talented culinary and leadership perspective to Bar Pastoral.
A special thank you and shout out to Bar Pastoral's inaugural chef, Chrissy Camba, who got us off to an amazing start and who will be opening her own Filipino restaurant concept in Lincoln Square in the months to come. Thanks Chrissy and congratulations Chef Brooks!

Bar Pastoral's ambiance is a warm extension of Pastoral’s signature retail look and feel, channeling memories of trips to the most inviting culinary destinations on earth, like Sonoma, Provence or Tuscany, without being overtly specific to any of them. Combining authentic pastoral materials with exposed brick, soothing tones and room-defining rustic antiques, we endeavor to provide an intimate refuge in the middle of a bustling metropolis.
