Sparkling & Rose Wine
Announcing Two Great February Classes!
We're pleased to introduce our Winter Classes Program in February with TWO great offerings!
Pastoral hosts classes at our locations in Lakeview on Tuesdays and in the Loop on Saturdays . They run for approximately 90 minutes and range in price....
Pairing of the Week: Tumalo Farms Classico & Charles and Charles Rosé
In honor of Independence Day being this week, we've paired an American wine with an American cheese in a patriotic pairing!
Pairing of the Week: Sartori Raspberry Bellavitano and Chateau de Lavernette Rose
Summer is in full effect and with festival season getting in to gear as well, here's a pairing that's fit for any warm weather occasion!
What We're Drinking: Brachetto d'Acqui
Think of Brachetto as a rose version of its more well known neighbor, Moscato. Produced primarily in the southwest of the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, Brachetto grapes produce a frizzante (slightly sparkling), aromatic, fresh, and fruity gem of a sweet wine.
Pairing of the Week: Olive Oil-Marinated Chevre and Cava
This week's pairing continues the Spanish theme as we head in to the 2nd Annual Pastoral's Artisan Producer Festival with an olive oil-marinated chevre and a sparkling cava. These two are perfect for spring and perfect for each other!
What We're Drinking: Leclerc Briant Champagne
Champagne may be typically connoted with celebrations, but we say it's about finding the little celebrations in your week to focus on. And there's no better way to celebrate being done with that big project at work than a bottle of bubbly and friends. So with our own big project coming to fruition this weekend at the 2nd Annual Pastoral's Artisan Producer Festival, we'll be drinking Leclerc Briant's Cuvee Brut.
Pairing of the Week: Bucheron and Pinot Noir Rose
This week's pairing highlights the start of rose season. And nothingis better with rose than a bit of ripened goat cheese!
"Sneak Peek" Wine Tasting
In the spirit of the "Sneak Peek" of summer weather we are experiencing, Pastoral is showcasing some summer wine selections at our Lake Street store for our 3rd Tuesday tasting. Come by between 5-7pm Tuesday March 20th and get a head start familiarizing yourself with our summer wines selected with sunshine and grilling in mind.
