Marketing and Website Coordinator

Reports to: Pastoral Co-Owners

Status: Full time exempt

Overview:
Under the direction of Pastoral's Co-Owner, Pastoral's Marketing and Website Coordinator is responsible for the co-development and implementation of Pastoral's marketing programs. Including social media, email, retail and more. The Coordinator will work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to determine the most effective communication methods to reach desired traffic and revenue goals across all lines of business including online, restaurant and in-store retail. 
 
Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Partner with Co-Owner and internal stakeholders on creating of holistic year long marketing calendar spanning distinct lines of business
  •  Partners with stakeholders across all Pastoral business lines to maintain awareness of business needs and provide marketing support when necessary. 
  •  Create appropriate content (blog posts, videos photos, graphics) for use in the promotion of Pastoral businesses in store and online 
  •  Create consumer focused marketing emails, track and optimize results
  •  Create and schedule social media content relevant to consumer trends, industry direction and business needs. Participate in social media conversations with the voice of the brand
  •  Regularly update website with new content. Including: products, graphics and promotions.
  •  Partner with CFO on data analysis relevant to promotional decisions
  •  Coordinate promotional events in conjunction with internal stakeholders
  •  Evaluate and execute on marketing partnerships with CEO 
  •  Interface with partner organizations (chambers of commerce etc) with the purpose of amplifying Pastoral messaging
  •  Other duties as assigned
 
Requirements:
2+ years working with social media management
Passion for the food industry
Graphic design portfolio 
Careful attention to detail 
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Flexible schedule with ability to work promotional events outside of normal business hours
Photography experience preferred
Website CMS experience preferred 
Ability to work both independently and as a team
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

 

 

 

Counter Sales Associate

 Reports to: Retail Operations Manager

 Status: Full time/Part time, non-exempt

  Overview: Counter Sales Associates will deliver impeccable customer service while educating Pastoral's customers about the fascinating world of artisan cheese, charcuterie, bread, and wines. The Counter Associate will assist with opening and closing procedures, and will assist with catering and gifting needs as needed.

  Requirements

  • Prior education in or professional experience with small-batch, artisan food (particularly cheese and/or wine) is strongly preferred
  • Willingness to study and learn about our always-changing mix of artisan cheese, wine, charcuterie, bread and accompaniments
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and throughout the holiday season
  • Must obtain Food Handler license upon employment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

 Work Conditions

Ability to work a flexible schedule in order to meet business needs; position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion; work in hot and cold temperatures; works with kitchen equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.

Sandwich Bar Associate

Reports to: Store Operations Manager

Status: Full time/Part time, non-exempt

Overview: Sandwich Bar Associates will focus on fulfillment of sandwich and salad orders, catering and fulfillment prep, and provide outstanding customer service to all guests. The Associates will assist with opening and closing procedures, and assist other team members as needed.

Production Cook

Reports To: Commissary Production Supervisor

Status: Part-time to Full-time, non-exempt

 Overview:  The Production Cook is responsible for assisting in production of Pastoral's commissary house-made food items, catering production and assembly, inventory product care, as well as participating in regular location inventories.

 Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare house-made food items for Pastoral retail locations, and catering operations according to standardized recipes, and maintain seasonal par levels
  • Execute successful catering orders for Pastoral’s retail and commissary kitchen locations
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and product care; document production and shrink logs
  • Assist with weekly and monthly formal product inventory counts
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary and professional work environment; learn, understand and follow all city, state, federal and Pastoral food safety regulations and/or guidelines and standards; adherence to HACCP protocol
  • Perform daily cleaning duties, in addition to weekly cleaning projects (ex. drains, walls, floors, garbage cans, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen
  • Adhere to proper food and sanitation protocols
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensure that walk-ins, freezers, and all food prep areas are kept clean and organized

 Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience working in a restaurant, prep kitchen or equivalent
    • Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen conduct; excellent knife skills, and food safety handling
    • Open availability - able to work days and/or night shifts
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Illinois Food Handler Certificate required
  • Strong attention to detail; must be focused and organized; able to prioritize projects effectively

 Work Conditions:

  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing in excess of 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Dishwasher

Reports to:     General Manager

Status:            Full time/Part time, non-exempt

 Responsibilities Include:

  • Wash, clean, and store tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment; keep the kitchen and equipment clean and organized
  • Operate dish washing equipment
  • Perform daily cleaning duties, in addition to weekly cleaning projects (ex. drains, walls, floors, garbage cans, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen
  • Polish glassware and silverware
  • Basic food preparation, including some light cutting and baking
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Dishwasher or Busser 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen conduct 
  • Night and weekend availability; must be available throughout peak seasons 
  • Must obtain Food Handler license upon employment if not already certified
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and withstand exposure to cold, heat, and water and lift up to 50 pounds
