We opened our first store in Chicago's East Lakeview neighborhood in 2004. The Web Services Coordinator is an entry level position that will coordinate the activities of Pastoral’s website, our third party platform websites, and provide outstanding service to customers of Pastoral’s web store. Job duties include updating website content, creating growth through innovating website traffic strategies and content management, analyzing reports, online order fulfillment, coordinating with shipping partners, and answering customer inquiries regarding products, donation requests, or website content. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Sales.


  • Basic understanding of CMS, HTML, SEO, and Google Analytics
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; must be comfortable on the phone
  • Exceptional attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be willing to have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, especially during the holiday season; occasional nights and weekends required
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion

Our Sandwich Bar Associates will focus on fulfillment of sandwich and salad orders, catering and fulfillment prep, and provide outstanding customer service to all guests.

Our Counter Sales Associates will deliver impeccable customer service while educating Pastoral's customers about the fascinating world of artisan cheese, charcuterie, bread, and wines.

Some other things that you will do:

  • answer phones; take sandwich and catering orders
  • assist with opening and closing procedures
  • replenish the floor with merchandise
  • assist with catering and gifting needs
  • SMILE and have a good time- we’re selling products that make people happy!


  • A positive attitude that exemplifies teamwork and excellent customer service
  • Willingness to study and learn about our always-changing mix of artisan cheese, wine, charcuterie, bread and accompaniments
  • Prior experience in the food industry and with small-batch, artisan food is preferred
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and throughout the holiday season
  • If not already certified, must obtain Food Handler license upon employment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds



LINE COOKS: Appellation and Bar Pastoral

Appellation and Bar Pastoral are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Line Cooks to add to our teams as we continue to build on the success of our brunch business! Appellation and Bar Pastoral specialize in seasonal and from scratch cooking using local products and artisan cheese and charcuterie. 

We are seeking Part Time Line Cooks for Saturday and Sunday brunch (shift is 8am-4pm). Availability for this specific shift both days is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Cooking, prepping, and cleaning 
- Prepare foods according to recipes and standards as dictated by the chef
- Ensure that food quality, freshness, and presentation meet standards of the kitchen
- Ensure that all kitchen areas are clean and organized
- Prepare, handle, and store food in accordance with Chicago Health Department regulations
- Work well with other kitchen staff to ensure good service to each other and the customer

All applicants must have prior experience in working in a from scratch kitchen, good knife skills, have flexibility with their schedule, and be dedicated to working with a great kitchen team. Upon hire, applicant must have a ServSafe/Food Handlers license. Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
